Litigious Companies
Who's threatened to sue NGE

Welcome
Only a couple of sleeps to Santa’s arrival and we just want to wish all the NGE community a very safe and happy Christmas.

Hopefully our Best and Worst companies list and ASK NGE has helped you know where to go to get the best consumer experience. We certainly look forward to receiving as many post-Christmas reviews to celebrate those businesses that delivered on their promises and bag those that did not!!

Given the time of year we thought we’d focus our energy on things positive rather than gripes, so you’ll only find a selection of the Top 10 compliments (and yes for you cynics out there, we had no problem finding 10!!) in the December newsletter but don’t worry Gripes will be back in our first edition for 2009.

YouTube has come to NGE. We will be updating the TV Room in the next week or two with submission received from members. The TV Room is where you can watch consumer video submissions from members uploaded via YouTube, Google or other vid-sites on all things consumer.

NGE TV Room

Submit your YouTube, Google or other vid-site consumer video for inclusion in the TV Room by simply sending the link to our TV Room production team at ngetv@notgoodenough.org. Perhaps even add a few words of why you think other NGE members might like to view it also. We’ll then select the best for inclusion in the TV Room

Don’t forget to jump into the ever expanding ASK NGE section and provide your comments on not just other members questions, but also great movies you’ve seen, music you’d like others to check out, a good book…. We hope to slowly create an environment where, as a community, we can help each other out.

The Top 5 of the Best Lists:
We have now added 4 more to the “Best of” lists (see the 4 highlighted in the list below).  The “5 of The Best” company lists are based on your ratings over the past 12 months.  The industry sectors now included in the 5 of The Best lists are:

Your ratings are captured each time you post about a company and tell us, on a scale of 1 to 5, how you feel across the following indexes:

Expectations

-How likely are you to refer?

Recent Poll Results
- Are the Government's greenhouse gas emissions targets too weak ? No 66% (Looks like the majority think the Government has got it about right)
- Will the Government backflip on Telstra's exclusion from the Natl Broadband Network build tender ? Yes 78% (So just a matter of when and the spin associated with the change of heart)
- Should new government transport infrastructure spending be primarily focused on: The majority of you (49%) said on Roads only just in front of Trains 47% (Bikes still don’t cut it as a transport alternative)
- Are Banks being fair by continuing to keep Credit Card rates high ? No 92% (Overwhelming answer here – and at least a few banks have listened)
- Is Australia headed into a Recession ? Yes 65% (Well let’s see if we managed to control our consumer spending this Xmas or did the rates drop prove toio tempting)
- In the next 12 months, will average Aussie housing prices drop by: The majority of you (51%) said prices will fall between 10 to 50%. 44% of you said prices would only fall by less than 10% (Perhaps all hope is not lost and a big housing slump will not happen downunder?)
