Organisation name: Sunday NewsMail
Issue type: Complaint

On Sunday 9 Nov I purchased the Sunday Mail to buy a token for the Big Light Switch light give away.

When I tried to redeem my lights, all the post offices and newsagents had none. I called the 1800 number and was told that lightbulbs were being handed out without tokens. eusa_wall.gif

Why aren't these newsagents paying for the shortfall so that people like me who can't redeem their lightbulbs or enter the compettition?

Surely they can't draw the competition until all people who have tokens have redeemed their light bulb to get the code to enter.

This is a fiasco. I bought my paper, I don't have my lights or entry to the comp. eusa_snooty.gif

What's even better is when you get your bulbs and one glows green. You then cannot find the number on the bulb and call them. Turns out a manufacturing fault is causing a lot to give off a soft green (or in some cases, pink) glow. The winning ones are bright green. That's why we couldn't find the code.

What I find annoying with these promotions is that if you are a subscriber you often don't even go out and think to redeem the token early. Luckily my local newsagent (the deliverer) usually holds the items if I request it, but this time they weren't holding them.

I've never heard of this promo, so let see if I get it right, Tubby bought the newspaper for the token or to read the news?
