Disgraceful food

We used to go to the Karingal Hog's Breath, then moved house and now go to the one in Chadstone, and found both have good service and great consistancy of food, with good times had by all - maybe the issues you are having are state based and could be put down to training?

Tonight I had dinner with 5 friends at the glenelg 'restaurant'.
We recieved the worst service possible.
First we waited AT LEAST an hour for our food. We asked twice where out food was, and the waitress sent the manager 'Jessabelle' who told us 'if you have something to say, say it to my face' and did not even attempt to apologise for the service.. We recieved our food about 15 minutes after this with the staff slaming our plates on the table. Two people on our table didnt recieve their food until everyone else on the table had finished eating. Out of the 6 meals on the table two of them had pieces of hair in them.
When we went to pay the staff refused to serve us until there was no one else waiting to pay, and were pulling faces at us.
When it was finally our turn to be surved the girl at the register told us we were rude and accused us of calling the staff "asian bitches" and called us racist. During this time the girls boyfriend and his friends were standing at the counter threatening us and telling us they would 'finish us off outside'.
When i asked the manager for the phone number for head office she walked away to the back of the counter and called the owner, and was overheard saying we were racist and making things up.
Once she got off the phone she told me there was no number for head office and to call her boss if we didnt believe her. She asked us "what the hell our problem was" in which we replied her attitude. She went on to deny that she said anything that we claimed she said.
I am so disgusted with the service as were other people sitting at other tables.
I consider being called racist slander and am only to happy to take the matter further especially as the staff had their boyfriends threaten us.

Shandy just as an aside, having worked in the hospitality industry for many years and knowing people who still do, there is no way on this earth I would complain about a meal and request a replacement as I have personally seen how some of these replacements have been treated in the kitchen before being reserved to the patron!

The real question is - do you have the intestinal fortitude to offer an opposing opinion. There are plenty of others that do, I'll respect them instead.

I just agreed with the others. what I didn't say before was that she went to the counter and spoke to the manager about it, she was offered an apology, another steak which wasn't much better and a discount of the meal, so really you can't do better then that except you can just not go there any more, so caliope you could have done the same as my 18 year old daughter, but you didn't. I'm also entitled to my opinion and if you don't like it don't post.
derat, I read your posts around the place, I seldom agree ( would you believe it) but mostly I don't, you make many derogatory and sarcastic remarks and you get away with it, but it's your opinion.

At least when I posted a gripe about a company it was on first hand experience and one specific store at that, you bagged an entire chain based on hearsay from someone else!

Also, where do you get that it was " the day after New Years" that my incident took place?

I didn't think It was allowed to make derogatory remarks on this website, the last time i did my post was removed, and derat does it all the time. caliope and derat please read my post again and tell me where did I complain about hogs breath or about anybody for that matter, so please give me a break grandpar, IT WAS A STUFFING PROBLEM, you see not enough staff on new year's day and too many customers.

Yeh - seems Shandy's daughter forgot to inform management about their staffing problems so "they can do better with thier service".

Hog's breath didn't "give the bad service, the staff did, the company should then be told and then let them fix it, if they don't then you can complain."

my daughter just came back from a holiday in coffs harbour, she was telling me all about it and said how they went to hogs breath for a meal, well all I can say is, the people above are all right about this restaurant.

I'd be reporting that to the Health Department if I was you. That is truly disgusting.
Places like Hogs Breath and LaPorchetta that try to pass themselves off as "Restaurants" are nothing more than glorified crowded noisy Caffeterias.
