Did anyone read the terms and conditions?? Not trying to offend, but if you read the T & Cs, it states what charges you will receive..like any mobile phone call does..l never make a mobile phone call, especially to win something, without reading the 'all so important' t&cs first...let it be a lesson to those who fell for them..l am not excusing their behaviour, but if you can't read or didn't read their t&cs, don't enter

If anyone was scammed like I was don't hesitate to contact the TIO. They rang me on the same day I lodged my online complaint and gave me advice which eventually put into motion a resolution completely unexpected. Mobile Messenger have agreed to reimburse me for the text messages (over $50 worth). Perhaps now I should give them the 'thumbs up', but I suspect that my determination to see this through made them realise that this company had to do something 'in good faith'. Really, the applause should be given to the TIO for their very helpful and quick advice.
Thanks TIO and thanks firefly for leading me in the right direction.

Organisation name: myquiztv
Issue type: Complaint
I received an unsolicited message from myquiztv saying I could enter their sms competition for free. Little did I realise that my replying meant that I was subscribing to a competition which would mean that I would receive one question every week billed to my phone service at the premium rate of $6 per message delivered. I didn't discover this till after I received my phone bill. This competition is managed by a group called Mobile Messenger Pty Ltd.
Mobile phone users beware: don't reply to any unsolicited quiz.
