Post subject: Paid for course and they won't give me my certificate
Organisation name: Secta
Issue type: Complaint

Last year I paid Secta to complete class 1A/C security license. I completed the class 1A and had trouble getting into to complete the last night of the class 1C. I notified the company in regards to this and they said when I could go in it will be fine.

I decided to send away for the class 1A license and contacted Secta to send my certificate. After a couple of weeks I not received my certificates and I contacted Secta again and I was told they would be sent out. Two weeks later I received the first aid certificate and not the class 1A certificate. I had to contact Secta again and asked where was my class 1A security certificate. I was told they didn't send it because they didn't have anything to say that I had paid for the course. I quoted the receipt number to the girl over the phone and she said she would now send the certificate.

I also mentioned that I still couldn't get in to complete the last night of the C certificate and she said it would be fine for me to complete it when I could get in. At no stage was I told I should have asked for an extension of time.

I eventually received the class 1A certificate and I sent the relevant information away to the Security Industry Register and 6 weeks later had my application returned to me. On ringing the SIR I found out that Secta had not sent me all the relevant information. I once again contacted Secta and spoke with a person and they said they would send the missing paperwork. I once again said I could not get in to finish the last night of the c license and I was told to come in and do it when I could. Once again no mention of my needing to ask for an extension nor was there an apology for the run around I was getting.

Because of this my entering the security sector was delayed by a considerable amount of time.

Last month I emailed Secta and said I would like to complete the last night of the c license and would there be a problem given the time span and would I have to do another police check. I received an email saying it was all good for me to complete the last section. Which I did.

I just contacted Secta only to be told they had tried to contact me on an old mobile which I no longer have. Interestingly enough they made no attempt to call the landline or to send me an email. I was told they would not give me my certificate. They stated too much time had lapsed and yet I had told them all along that I could not get in. Not once was I told that I needed to ask for an extension of time. I missed a night of work to complete the license requirements. They gave me the run around in not sending me my certificates, not once offered an apology, they gave me the go ahead to completed the license and now will not give it to me.

I was told a manager would get in contact with me, well after over an hour and no contact I decided to come here to NGE. Which I told the girl I would.

NOT GOOD ENOUGH SECTA.
