No Offence to anyone but try the cleaning agencies - they do (with the good ones) pay GOOD rates. And we have recently hired an out of work clerical worker based solely on the fact that he has excellent referees from his clients on issues of trust. This "house husband" cleaned for 3 years to stay in the workforce and has now give him a job that opens doors... never discount the "smaller" fulltime jobs on offer |

Well I also was made redundant at 58 but the way Centrelink treat me I soon realised that it was not the road for me and got another job post haste!
Let me see, first I had to go and wait for hours to fill out paper work, then some incompeteant twit put inncorrect details to that paperwork on file, then I was told that I had to wait half a year almost for a payment as I had redundancy pay, I went to New Orleans and worked volunteering, Centrelink said that had to be declared and I was suspended, then I got a payment of $132 and a phone call that I was under investigation for being in a 'relationship' with the person I co-own our flat. This person is 15 years younger than me, female like me and MY COUSIN which they are fully aware of as they sent letters to people asking 'what our relationship is'. Then I said to them, hang on same sex relationships have only just been recognised so if it were true what ius the big deal, please stop my payments. Got a job and in the past 3 months they keep calling me to see if I am still working. No 1 it is none of their business & No 2 I will never put myself in the position to be stripped naked by them and every crack of mine investigated! I have always been honest with any Govt agency but that is bloody rediculous. How did they base this investigation? They popped up my passport no and saw that my cousin & I had travelled together on 3 of my numerous occaisions overseas! ( I happen to audit Airline customer service as a casual job & banks & because I had started several different accounts, all of which are closed after by the company I work for, they had assumed I was shonky) To rub salt into the wound it was investigated by some one that could not even speak Engrish Propery !
Oh yes, what happened to my $132 payment? I got a letter to say I had been overpaid $198! which I promptly repaid. |

petainnt,Well in these days of "political correctness"and "same sex relationships" as is approved by centrelink, I think that is too much info. But if you feel you must share,Im happy for you.But stating "I HAVE A VAGINA - THAT MAKES ME FEMALE" does not necessarily make you "A FEMALE",as several so called members of the opposite sex,(whom also have breasts),and whom I have watched at various times, prowl up and down the carpets of Dandenong centrelink, are defiantly male in their walk, talk and manner.Yes there are some male bastards out there too,I hope your wishes come true, and you can sleep peacefully at night, petainnt. |

I have the perfect solution to your problem: GET A JOB! This negates the need to rely on tax payers to fund your lifestyle choice and has the added bonus of avoiding Centrelink offices. |

Ah yes TheLoanMan . but you see mate thats were we are having problems these days.Equality means just because one is of the female sex does not auto make them something special to lavish smiles and gifts upon. And im sorry but the unhappy females at most local centrelink offices would not understand if you treated them with respect and showered them with presents(or pleasantries ).I would like nothing better to go in to my centrelink in Dandenong in victoria and be greeted with a happy, smiling and most of all helpful female. I mean they have everything to smile about, air conditioned offices ,good employment conditions, great xmas break up parties, stress leave, and the list goes on.
Ganges 12,I dont know what position you are in,on the map, but here in south eastern Melbourne male staff including branches are as rare as hens teeth.Lack of mixed staff is the problem, and it ppears my centerlink`s are staffed by shall we put it nicely "MEN HATERS" |

If the women you go and see are unhappy, it may be the way you treat them.
I have found that women are a strange race of people, however if you treat them with respect and shower them with presents they can become quite friendly and helpful.
I even took the big step, which frightened all my male friends at the time, and married one 30 years ago and we are still married. They can be unpredicable, moody, insensitive, and bossy, however the other option does not appeal to me. |

Well have to say when I visited Centrelink at the end of last month there was the usual mix of male and female staff but do agree that the newer staff need to be aware of what they are required to actually do. |

Centrelink seems to have changed overnight.I woke up one morning and popped my head in to say "hello" and low and behold not a male in sight. And before anyone get annoyed and declares me a female hater ,I hold the deepest respect for some people and amongst them of the female sex.But not all.And this brings me to the totally female staff and all centrelink offices.Whats happening.I have found centrelink employs a certain type of unhappy, young,"career" inexperienced female.Who through no fault of their own lack training in dealing the general public. The powers that be claim that this is to balance the all male domination in other areas of the public service.Well im sorry but the frustration and angry faces on people I see waiting in various lines in my local centrelink office say it all. This Govt is clearly not taking advice from its employment minister |
