go to your local optometrist, you might be able to get the little part you need. When you buy Oakley or any other brand name you pay for a name, I bet it's made in china.

Post subject: Profit before the Environment !
Organisation name: Oakley
Issue type: Complaint

I bought my second (and Last) pair of Oakley sunglasses (Hatchet model) mid 2007,the glasses cost me $280.00 (were they were released around $470)and I have used them infrequently on weekend drives and used an older set that I have for everyday use.Early August 2009 I noticed that one arm was not as firm on my head as normal and found that a spring loaded arm stopper was damaged so returned them to Sunglass Hut for repair - told by young sales assistant that they don't send them back but gave me their contact No, Hmmmmm sell them then divorce themselves from further customer contact except a phone No for the customer to follow through themselves!
So I took them home and after I dismantled the glasses I found a tiny plastic spring insert that fits into a small hole within the steel frame broken so I phoned (Oakley) customer service Melbourne today and tell them the problem with my sunnies. Whilst the young lady was polite she told me that I would have to buy the complete frame at $150.00 to repair my glasses........ Whhattt for a 5 cent plastic insert that will have the same life cycle & failure rate.
This is consumerism at it's best and the planet is paying for it.
There is absolutely nothing wrong with the frames or the arms - just the insert, but to get this 5 cent part you have to buy the lot - No not ever I have bought a competitors brand and a they were cheep.
If any consumers out there are thinking Oakley think again & think of the planet paying for their profit - not a good product - Oakley you scored 0/10 for the environment in this case and 0/10 for customer satisfaction.
