So why not accompany your folks to the store? And then to the local newspaper in the area the studio is located?

Issue type: Complaint

I originally posted a complaint on NGE last year, about my wife's parents, and a dodgy deal they received from Studio 2000 photography in Adelaide. I cant find the original post anywhere on NGE anymore, so a quick summary.

My wife's parents got an offer for a free photo session with Studio 2000. They go in for the photo session, and are bullied by the salesperson into signing a contract worth several thousand dollars for some photos...which they don't even have.

They were not given a cooling off period after signing the contract, they were not allowed to leave the studio until signing the contract, and were threatened with debt collectors before even signing the contract.

They have spoken to Legal Aid in South Australia, and Legal Aid have simply told them that they signed a legally binding contract, so they have to pay the money. They are both on Centrelink Benefits, and don't have several thousand dollars laying about to pay this outrageous amount.

Having tried contacting Studio 2000 myself on several occasions, and they refuse to discuss anything about it with me, as I didnt sign the contract.
