Post subject: Why internet polls can't be trusted
Organisation name: Madison Square Garden
Issue type: Complaint

In celebration of Madison Square Garden re-opening after renovations, they have been running an international poll to see which is the greatest concert ever at their venue.

Michael Jackson has won all three preliminary rounds, by more than 75%, and is currently leading in the final. On the surface it looks like many Jackson fans are voting for him, until you see the actual vote numbers - over 12 million votes in seven days, despite the poll rules stating only one vote per day.

A search on the internet reveals how they did it:

They are using automated voting software, in groups.

Madison Square Garden have not responded to complaints. An example on why many of these internet polls can't be trusted. I suspect other polls which have been won by Jackson in landslides, were also obtained by cheating.

NGE Note: Please refer to the forum rules.
