Post subject: paying for volunteering
Organisation name: Global Vision International
Issue type: Complaint

While I admit I had a great time and GVI I have to wonder how much GVI actually cares about the environment and the communities that its various projects operate in.

They are actually a corporation so their needs arn't necessarily going to be in line with what the environment or community needs at a grass roots level. They give the impression of been all caring, but really they aren't any different from any other company.

It says on their website that 70% of the fee for participating in a project goes back into the project. However that still means the money stays with GVI, all it means is that 70% gets allocated at project level within GVI.
