Post subject: Unfair dismissal of a Security guard at Perth train station
Organisation name: Transperth WA
Issue type: Complaint

In January this year, a security guard that worked for Perth train station was unfairly dismissed from his occupation due to an altercation that occured between him and another patron on the platform which was not due to the guard's fault. He did not start the argument and was merely defending himself against the purpetrator.

Apparently the CEO of some company sacked him, but his actual boss had given him a really good reference when he left, and therefore that should say something about this man as a person and a worker.

Employers should really get to know their employees and his boss obviously did, otherwise this man would'nt have gotten such a good reference off his boss, yet he got the sack anyway.

Now it's being investigated by the proper organisation. This former employee should really be owed an apology by the CEO of that company and he should be reimbursed for lost wages as well as reinstated his job back if he so wants it. The guard is a friend of mine I can vouch for the fact that he is a diplomatic, reliable gentleman and individual that does not cause trouble.

I have to let it be said Perth Train station should know that theve lost a good employee and the best security guard they ever had, and the behaviour of the CEO was disgusting, unacceptable and just notgoodenough.

My friend who is a security guard was unfairly dismissed by Transperth after and altercation between him and a patron. He is a really good man that did not deserve the sack for the incident.

I think Thing's question was meant to request more information on the events which lead to the sacking. Not an overall basically type of answer..
