We bought a Haier Dishwasher at the recommendation of the Harvey Norman salesman, it was all we could afford at the time. I rang Haier/Endeavour on 11 January to say that the water wasn't heating up - they would get back to us with a time for service call. Rang again on 10 February - they would speak to technician when he came back from leave the next day. Technician aattended following week, advised he would order part. Rang Endeavour 19 February - they were waiting for delivery of part. Endeavour rang on 26 February to say technician would attend on Monday 1 March. As they could not guarantee a morning attendance a date was made for 15 March in the morning. On Friday 12 March Endeavour rang to say the technician would be sick on Monday 15 and they would ring to make another time. We are still waiting. May be a more expensive dish washer would have prompted better service. When I blamed the lack of service on the dish washer being under warranty I was told, Endeavour didn't get paid until the job was done. Granted I haven't been waiting 6 months but I think we have been fairly patient. |

Sharp
I sold their products until I discovered how unreliable their products were. However they were backed by Sharps own terrible customer service and a network of repair agents. Some seem to milk the customer rather than making warranty claims.
Didn't Mum teach you not to play with Sharp items? |

I don't think they come worse than Panasonic. Buy the cheapest. It doesn't hurt as much when u have to throw it away. |

I wouldn't call Sharp a fantastic brand manchild.
I have an issue with them currently. See "Sharp R995E convection microwave oven design problem" in Household Appliances.
It's getting to the point where you can't even trust the big brands any more these days. I've had similar problems with various Panasonic products.
Sites like NGE and Choice help inform the consumer better but it's still bad if it has to get to this. |

If sharp are unaware of this problem, they are unable to do anything about it. I think it is endeavours' responsibility to ensure their staff are correctly trained. I believe in this case that Sharp is being mislead by endeavor. I suggest somebody contacts Sharp to recommend them to change repairers. I think a fantastic brand is being let down by a poor repairer. |

I think it should be both.
Endeavour for their in-competence & Sharp for not doing anything about their nominated repairer. |

I think this gripe should be directed towards endeavour, not sharp. |

We have an LG airconditioner and Endeavour are also the nominated repairer for LG. After repeated service calls from Endeavour over a period of some six months, with no success in fixing our unit, LG finally sent out a different repairer and they had far more idea about the problem and the solution, though getting LG's help was rather difficult.
We also had a simlar problem a few years ago with a dishwasher that took months to repair. Again Endeavour was the nominated repairer and it was only after I convinced Myer (from whom we had purchased the dishwasher with extended warranty)to send someone from the manufacturer that a serviceman direct from Vulcan came out that the problem was fixed in less than 10 minutes.
I would not buy a product again where the nominated repairer is Endeavour.

“The nominated repairer for my area doesn’t know how to fix the problem” complains Heron1
I recently purchased a Sharp air conditioner and the nominated repairer for my area doesn’t know how to fix the problem that has developed.
I have called out the nominated repairer 3 times and made numerous calls to their office (Endeavour Refrigeration Brisbane).
They tell me they have to contact a technical support person at Sharp but they have made no effort to do this.
I wrote to the General Manager at Sharp to complain about their nominated repairer but they have not solved the problem although Sharp have rung me and said they will look into it.
This has been ongoing for over 6 weeks. I am fed up as I can’t use the unit at night. I don’t know if it safe to use? No one can contact the Sharp technical advisor.
What are my rights? I believe I should get a new unit installed although my warranty says it will repair the unit (it doesn’t mention replacement).
Sharp's Response:
Endeavour Refrigeration came out to attend to my Air Con complaint this morning. The unit did not make the noise that I am complaining about ( it usually happens at night.) The technician stayed about 15 mins.
I said I would tape the noise during the night when it next happened and ring Endeavour and advise them to come out and listen to the noise on the tape. |
