Organisation name: M1 Alliance
Issue type: Complaint

My vehicle was damaged by loose concrete the day after nightworks to profile(etch) the roads.I notified Vicroads who put me on to the M1 Alliance who is looking after this section.Everyone was nice abouitit and said to me to fill out the forms, get 2 quotes and the stat dec signed and they will look after the rest.Well 2 1/2 months later I get a letter from their money people to say that my re-imbersment for damages has been declined.no reason given. I ring the M1 alliance to find out what is going on and are told that they had their people inspect the road before the freeway re-opened and they signed off the road as good to open.Mind you this would have been inspected in the dark before the freeway opened.so claim rejected. It is now up to me to pay for damage that their incompetence has caused and also a hire car whilst mine is getting fixed.apparently there is no one higher to take this too.So beware when driving along the freeway-Vicroads is not responsible for any damage,as the believe.

I've seen this so many times in American films, maybe those rats have been watching the same films. It always turns out to be bluff hoping the little person will go away.

differ, what do you mean by "damaged by loose concrete"? Unless the concrete actually fell on your car from an overpass, it is your responsibiity to avoid obstacles on the road. Why exactly do you think VicRoads or M1Alliance are responsible?

I bet you were one of the many shown on camera to be speeding in a road works area.

Which would you prefer - pay for the damage or pay the fine and lose points off your license?

I had a similar experience with my own car. It is one of the only regrets I have in my life so far.
