If you’ve been overcharged, they will credit you from a correct reading of your meter.
You may not be able to go somewhere else, unless you’re in Brisbane.
Indeed avoid AGL like the plague, and maybe try Energy Australia, if you can, and if they’re interested in Queensland household accounts.
Even then, Origin entitles itself to 20 working days’ notice.
Always have in mind that the purpose of attracting people to Queensland is to send them electricity bills.
Refer to recent topic called “$300 bill”.

The above complaint also includes Origin's handling of this situation. After all I pay them (for now at least) for my electricity and they have given me the run around, impossible to get answers and action from these guys. Still waiting for them to return my call and believe me they will be doing a full review of all previous charges - all this could have been avoided with them admitting the mistake and just offering payment for my dinner expenses for the night. But they carry on I've gotten and endless phone calls I've had to make have made me even more angry and now I will be contesting all previous bills over 3 yrs and will also be changing to a energy provider who cares and trust me - its currently NOT origin!

Simple story really, but months of being given the run around and no resolution.
I return home from work one evening to discover my electricity had been disconnected, after calling origin to ask what had happened (and having to argue with them because they didn't believe my power was disconnected). I had to go out for the evening for meals etc.. because they were working to restore the disconnection.
I then ask for answers and Origin say - its not our problem we dont handle connections/disconnections that Energex.
Energex conduct an investigation and then I'm forced to call them to ask the outcome, where they say "it wasn't our fault your meter was marked incorrectly".
I tell them I'm not happy and they tell me there is nothing they can do.
I'm now waiting for origin to return my call because I want a full review of all my electricity bills since connecting the electricity as obviously if the meter was marked wrong I would have been getting charged incorrectly too.
