First waitress was very sweet and helpful, oysters up to scratch and waitresses selection of pinot good. Sadly it was spoiled by the seafood/bacon chowder and manager's attituted.
Cannot quiet describe the chowder other than it had the consistency of a a bowl of tastless slimey gravy (cannot beleive that with the amount of bacon it had in it, it could have been so tasteless) - possibly a close second to gruell?
Hubby's blue eyed cod was supposed to be chargrilled (it was not). Was also raw in the middle, tough on the outside and lukewarm. Though he let it go.
Upon notifying the staff pretty much immediatly after tasting the chowder that there was something in it that did not sit right in my tummy and was not happy with it (possibly the corn flour thickening?), blonde female manager attended, informed me that there was no problem with "THEIR FOOD", they would not be refunding "IT", and it was not "THEIR PROBLEM" that I did not like the dish or the wheat flour it was thickened with.
I let her know that was fine, I would not be returning or passing on my recommendations. Polititely requested the bill. When we went to pay it, interupted her standing with three other waiteresses having what looked like a bitch/giggle over her behaviour in handling the incident.
She was not only rude, to top the whole encounter off, when my husband was paying, made a snide comment to him about after dinner chocolates she had at the bar. She offered them to him on a plate and then quickly took them back, her words exactly "Ohhhhhhhhh, nooooo, maybe not, they've got wheat in them/flour in them, Ohhhhhhhhhhhh no, . . . . sorry".
Disgracefull management/service from a manager who should have more sense, average food, overpriced for the overall service that was provided.
Mures was quiet, not surprising business is hurting with a manager with a major PMS problem.
We might have been better of going around the corner to Fish Frenzy, Elizabeth Street Pier where we ate earlier in the day and paid far less for a far more delicious meal, without attitude.
As far as referrals, the only referral anyone will be getting from me are a warning to stay well clear. |
