Ouch. someone just recommended this company to me as a replacement for Aus Post, but after reading these posts I'm not sure anymore. Has anyone out there had any good experiences of them? Would it be worthwhile checking them out or not?

Searching the web there are more good comments about transdirect than bad. (most carriers have some bad press.)
I just engaged them to take 2 boxes to SA from Melbourne. Pickup was on schedule, as advertised. I'll update if the delivery goes pear shaped, estimated in 2-3 business days.

A sample of 1, but their service was top rate from their web site quote system, to pickup, to delivery as advertised, when advertised, with no worries, according to the recipient.

I am a small business owner who uses transdirect for shipping our goods interstate.
I just stumbled upon this website after "googling" transdirect because the direct link to their site appeared to be down / unavailable.
Anyway..like i said we have use transdirect for shipping and thus far they have not let us down. The pick up goods ontime, they deliver ontime, their online booking system is easy.
My opinion on this complaint about the 50" plasma being damaged in transit is this: You cannot hold a company responsible for damaged goods when they have made it clear in their terms and conditions that once you sign for goods it out of the freight companies hands and in yours.
I advise the person thinking of taking transdirect to court not to do so because legally you cant win because you / your father failed to adhere to the terms and conditions.
If that was my 50" Plasma, i would have firstly packages it with alot of protection in the event of ruff handling by the couriers and depot workers and then I would have inspected the TV upon delivery.
Common Sense. Its not nice to ruin a companies rep for the sake of your ingnorance.

I think that the industry is at fault here, not transdirect and not the customer.
The industry generally hires incompetent ninnies who are poorly paid and poorly treated (mostly Indian students) they see a box marked "fragile" and they ignore it, or they throw around cartons in the back of their vans and trucks without a care in the world for the goods inside or the end-user because at the end of the day they are making only $120 and they've invested lets say $10k-20k for a vehicle.
Other high paying reputable companies such as UPS and the like offer impressive salaries and incentives to employees and provide them with a vehicle. They attract a better workforce BUT they unfortunately must compensate for this by charging their customers a little more for freight.
